About this class
In this entry-level cocktail course, you will learn:
- Basic mixing techniques that you can apply directly to practice
- Different beverage groups of mixed drinks
- The structure of mixed drinks
- Glass types
- The nutritional physiology behind drinks and ingredients
- Different “classics” with different mixing methods and their advantages and disadvantages
- The taste chart that helps you recommend and choose drinks
We recommend that you show up without a car. But you are also welcome to mix without alcohol. I respond individually to the participants and also work with non-alcoholic distillates.
There are two cocktail courses: for beginners and advanced players. I recommend the advanced course if you have already taken the entry-level course. The drinks are more complex there and we start right where the basic course ends.
What you’ll do in the class
Since we only have 3 hours available, we start right away with an explanation of the portfolio and the first basic recipe with help with the first pitfalls that exist (drink temperature and mixing ratio.
While your first drink is being enjoyed, it's straight on to explaining the shaker and then the second mixed drink. In the best case, the third and therefore last mixed drink should then be completely creative, with what you have learned from steps 1 and 2, completely tailored to your taste. In addition, you will receive a large selection of recipes beforehand, which can/should serve as inspiration.
So packed full of information and lots of fun.
Who is the class suitable for?
There are actually no limits to this. I've already had 15-year-olds attend this course, but I've also had restaurateurs who simply wanted to become a bit more saddle-proof at the bar. I always make every effort to pick up every participant from where they are.
