How Does a Gin Tasting Work?
- Welcome: A gin expert explains gin styles and botanicals.
- Tasting: You sample several gins and learn their flavor profiles.
- Spotting aromas: You identify notes such as juniper, citrus or herbs.
- Tonic pairing: You test different tonic waters and find your best match.
- Finish: Some tastings end with a cocktail tasting.
The price usually covers the gins, tasting glasses, snacks and water between samples, and the guidance of the expert.
Gin Tasting: What You Will Learn
In a gin tasting you learn to tell gin styles from London Dry to New Western apart, to recognize botanicals such as juniper, and to pair gins with tonic water. You find out how gin is distilled and get mixing tips from the classic gin and tonic to creative recipes.
