Get to know Die Kaffeegruppe
Hi, I'm Kathi, your barista trainer with coffee in my blood:)
In the truest sense of the word, because I was born into a coffee machine family in Munich and today your coffee is my job. I have been working for the Kaffeegruppe, our family business in Munich, for years and work with coffee machines and everything that goes with them all day long.
That is exactly what my barista courses were born from. I see every day how much I want good coffee — and how quickly frustration develops when everything is explained in a more complicated way than it needs to be.
That's why I keep it simple: understand coffee, get confident and have fun. Without a barista ego, without technical jargon, but with plain language and a wink.
Location — Where the courses take place
The barista courses take place in our coffee group showroom in the north of Munich. Equipped with high-quality Rocket household machines and professional portafilters, you will learn & practice in a chic, cozy & relaxed location. Not a sterile training room, no PowerPoint atmosphere, but a place where you can try things out, ask questions and even laugh if something doesn't work out right away.
The groups are deliberately kept small so that everyone gets to the machine themselves and no one just watches. Depending on the course, between 4 and a maximum of 8 people take part.
Courses & events — What makes my barista courses special
My courses are for anyone who really wants coffee but doesn't want to make things unnecessarily complicated. Believe me: I got you! ;-) Regardless of whether you are simply curious and simply want to get a taste of the coffee world or if you already have a machine but realize that espresso and milk froth are a matter of luck rather than consistently good. You're in the right place with me :-)
I just explain what really counts when it comes to coffee — and omit anything that stirs up more ground coffee than helps. Instead of complicated nerd tips, it's about understanding coffee: Why does espresso taste that way right now? Which adjustment screws can I turn if the foam doesn't work that way yet? And how do I actually take good care of the machine? Lots of practice, honest professional tips and some of these typical “Oh so! “moments included. Easy, understandable and completely without a barista show.
Team events & private events
In addition to open courses, I also offer private barista courses and team events. The group events are interactive, relaxed and combine learning with shared experience. Perfect for teams, groups of friends, or special occasions. Content and process can be individually adapted — from a relaxed gourmet format to more basic knowledge. In the end, everyone goes home with better coffee, new insights and a really good experience together.
