Wine sensory seminar with Denise Grauer, Palatinate wine princess 2020/21 and university lecturer in wine law. See, smell and taste, discover wine with all your senses. Denise Grauer looks into the world of aromas with you and opens up sustainable new ways for you to experience wines. The seminar consists of two parts; the sensory basics and then wine sensory technology.
What you’ll do in the class
Part 1: Sensory basics
- Introduction to basic sensors:
- What does sensor technology mean? What human senses are there?
- To what extent do they play a role in wine tasting?
- Olfactory perception test:
- Shows how different smell and taste perception work, but that they are inextricably linked
- Teach flavors:
- What aromas are there in wines?
- How can you find and name these aromas in a wine?
- Aroma smell test in black glass, first practice implementing what you have just learned about wine aromas
- Explanation of technical testing:
- How do I properly taste wine?
- What do you need to pay attention to?
- What do I need for this?
Part 2: Wine sensors
- Example 6 selected sparkling & style wines (0.1 l per person)
- Includes crissinis, bread and olive oil
- 1 bottle of seltzer mineral water
- Total duration: approx. 3 hours
- Admission: 6:30 p.m.
