This Kintsugi workshop near Berlin focuses on the Japanese art of ceramic repair. Kintsugi is more than just a technique, but can be seen as a philosophical approach that accepts and even welcomes the faulty and imperfect.
By highlighting the cracks, fractures and repairs become part of the life story of the object. The method is based on Japanese tradition, but has been adapted for everyday repair.
Where does the Kintsugi course take place?
The Kintsugi workshop takes place in Groß Eichholz in southern Brandenburg. In a great creative location, you will get creative together with like-minded people. We are looking forward to seeing you at the Kintsugi Workshop near Berlin!
How does this activity work?
On the first Sunday, I'll first tell you something about the history and origin of Kintsugi. The shards are then cleaned, glued together, and any missing areas are replaced with filling material.
On the second Sunday, the ceramic parts are finished with replacement urushi and gold powder.
What is the process?
- Once you arrive at the great location, you will be warmly welcomed
- You will learn the basics of Kintsugi in a theoretical unit
- You'll get step-by-step instructions on how Kintsugi works
- Then it's time to get to work: repair your own ceramic pieces
- The course instructor will provide you with advice and assistance

Anyone interested in kintsugi repair. You don't need any pottery experience.
