Class description

Safe use of light in any situation is a MUST for professional photographers today.

As a result, you can't see which camera the photo was taken with. However, it is immediately apparent whether a soft, homogeneous light was used or whether a hard, direct light was used.

And these stylistic devices also distinguish the professional from the layman, because the creative options are all the more varied than when the light is taken as it is.

In this one-day boot camp, Friedrun Reinhold shows both the basics of lighting and the casual use of different light sources.

We practice in specific situations with different lights and compare how the image message can be changed by using varied lighting.

From classic to modern, staged photography is a quick way to go if you know what you should pay attention to.

In addition to the necessary but brief theory, there is a lot of practical work, giving participants the opportunity to directly receive feedback and suggestions for changes.

We work exclusively with staged lighting, studio flashes, continuous lighting, light bouncers and combinations of these light sources. There will be a model on site.

Who is Friedrun Reinhold?

I have been taking pictures professionally for around 30 years now. My interest and focus has always been on meeting people and their work.

During this time, I was a member of the BFF, the DGPh, the BIPP, the CV and received numerous awards, including internationally. For example, with a fellowship from the British Institute of Professional Photography or from the FEP with the Qualified European Photographer Portrait Photography.

I am happy to share my knowledge and have taught in Karlsruhe for many years, teach at EVA in Hamburg and co-founder of Slowphotography.de.

After a trip to the southern German province, I have been working in my studio in Hamburg Eimsbüttel for corporate clients and in the headshot sector since 2014.

How does this activity work?

In the photo studio on Margaretenstraße in the backyard of Hamburg's Schanzen-Viertel

  • Portfolio Review
  • Light theory for practice
  • Color temperature and...
  • Practical exercises with guidance
  • Experience in front of the camera

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including lunch break

Who should definitely take part?

For all photographers who want to get closer to the staged studio portrait.

Experience and safe use of the camera are required so that we can dedicate ourselves entirely to the topic of light in portrait photography.
