With lots of fun using light, targeted image composition and misusing some things, we create unusual images beyond ordinary photos. It's less about what exactly we capture on the sensor, but more about how we photograph something.
Our goal is to free ourselves from the usual depiction of things and, through abstraction, to effectively stage structures, colors or shapes that had previously been invisible or little noticed.
Through clever use of image design and presentation, everyday objects suddenly become fascinating, sometimes painterly compositions of color and light. By using long exposure and reflections, we create completely new, unexpected graphical impressions, and when playing with different liquids and colors, there are endless possibilities for how we can make our photos even more exciting.
We'll also show you how to get the best out of your photo course images, give tips & suggestions for image editing and an insight into our RAW workflows.
How does this activity work?
The topics & content of the photo course
First part:
- Introduction to abstract photography
- creative recording techniques
- Build a set with simple tools
- Introduction to flash technology & continuous lighting
- Working with a macro lens and extension rings
Second part after lunch break:
- RAW workflow and editing suggestions
- joint image processing
- lots of suggestions, ideas and fresh inspiration
- Of course, you can also take further pictures here, depending on your mood.
In this workshop, we mainly work with prepared experimental kits in the studio and present various recording techniques for abstraction. The structures can all be recreated at home with little effort, so that the photo course can serve as a source of inspiration for further ideas of your own.
It can be tried out, tricked and varied to your heart's content. All you need is the joy of creative experimentation, a manually adjustable camera with hot shoe and a laptop for image editing (ideally with Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop).

In this experimental photo workshop, the individual support of each individual participant is very important to me. You'll be picked up right where you are — both on the creative and technical side.
No previous experience is necessary!
