About this class
In the photography workshop: analog! Let's just do... analog photography. That is extremely exciting. And it is cumbersome, slow, uncertain, expensive; but it also has great appeal and a lot of charm.
So let's go: we'll start right away (yes, after a short introduction)! We shoot with what we have right now. Old analog cameras, new disposable or plastic cameras or even kits for 35mm and/or roll film. There are really many possibilities... and we want to approach the topic in a practical, experimental and curious way. Without high demands for “perfection”, we can take the first steps into new/old times and techniques even with very simple cameras.
What you’ll do in the class
At the beginning of the workshop, there is a very short introduction to analog photography (more technology than history). So that we know roughly what happens when we expose a film... and later develop and remove it.
We will then take a look at the cameras we brought along. In particular, we must assess what they can achieve and where limits may soon be. That will certainly be exciting.
And then it starts: insert the film, check everything and expose the first photos. Photography: analog! — We will take a short tour through the city center (train station, Kröpcke, Opernplatz...) and do street photography there — in a very classic way and “just like before”.
Whether it happened... we won't find out until much later. After the workshop, everyone gives their films to develop and make prints. And we'll look at them in the second part of the Photography workshop: analog! together on.
Who is the class suitable for?
Even though this workshop is aimed more at advanced photographers, this is also the right place for beginners in analog photography. So even photo beginners are welcome to learn the basics of photography and take great photos here!
