Weingut Lange — Saaleck Castle in Hammelburg is one of the oldest wineries in Franconia and was first mentioned in documents as early as 1298. The Lange family now cultivates around 18 hectares of vineyards consistently organically according to Naturland guidelines, with 100% manual harvesting, without irrigation and with significantly reduced use of sulfur. The locations on Saalecker Schlossberg, protected by a historic quarry stone wall, a modern, predominantly dry wine style and a wine shop in Hammelburg City Hall, where you can taste and buy the wines, are characteristic.
The winery building is on the top of the mountain next to Saaleck Castle and the wine shop is located in the historic town hall on the market square.
What you’ll do in the class
- Reception at the winery and brief introduction to wine tasting
- Wine tasting with entertaining professional presentation - you will learn a lot about wine production, grape varieties, quality levels and flavors
- Tasting of 4 fine wines from the region
- Wine tasting accompaniment with bread and table water
- Participants who do not drink alcohol will receive our two non-alcoholic Seccos.
