About this class
Take part in this hands-on ceramic workshop, led by Lea (German/English), who is happy to share her passion for crafts. Regardless of whether you are a beginner and want to discover sound or are already advanced and want to develop your skills — this workshop is just right for you! You will learn basic techniques such as beading, pinching, plate construction, free forming and glazing, which open up endless creative possibilities for you. Dive into haptic experiments with clay, express your own ideas and create personal, functional or decorative pieces for the home. What you’ll do in the class
Discover ceramics as a new hobby! Over 6 weeks, you will go through the various steps of modelling with clay - from shaping, refining, decorating and glazing. After the workshop, you can take your fired ceramics home.
Lea your tutor, speaks German and English. Everybody is welcome and no experience is needed.

At this workshop, you will come up with your ideas. You can then implement them in the course. Depending on your level of knowledge, Lea will help you with the implementation. No experience is required but welcome. We are adapting to you and your wishes.
At the beginning of the course, you will be presented and demonstrated the essential modelling techniques. During the course, you can learn and apply new methods and be inspired by the other participants and Lea. Everything can, nothing must in this multi-week workshop.
All sculpted objects are fired in the workshop and glazed by you at the end.
For information: Ceramics are usually fired twice (1 scrub fire and 1 glaze burn). You will find out the exact procedure in the course.

All modelled objects are fired in the workshop and glazed by you at the end.
For your information: Ceramics are usually fired twice (1 bisque firing and 1 glaze firing). You will learn the exact process in the course.
6 sessions starting on 20 Jan 2025, every Monday evening 6-8pm for 6 weeks.

Here are some products you can add to your event
Ton muss gebrannt werden, um zu Keramik zu werden. Erst nach einem Brand hat dein Objekt eine Chance heil zu bleiben.
Der erste Brand ist der Schrühbrand, wobei das Tonobjekt bei 950*C für 2,5 Tage im Ofen ist.
Nach dem Brand ist die Keramik stabil aber noch nicht Wasserdicht. Dazu braucht es einen weiteren Brand. (Siehe Glasurbrand)
Voraussetzung für diese Option ist der Schrühbrand. Nach dem ersten Brand kann deine Keramik ein zweites Mal gebrannt werden, um wasserfest und gebrauchsfertig zu werden.
Beim Glasurbrand ist deine Keramik bei 1220*C für weitere 2,5 Tage im Ofen.
Der Preis ist ein Kilopreis.
Voraussetzung für den Glasurservice ist der Schrühbrand und anschliessend der Glasurbrand.
Nachdem deine Keramik einmal gebrannt ist, kann ich das Objekt für dich mit transparenter Glasur Glasieren. Dann wird die Keramik ein zweites Mal gebrannt (bei 1220*C) und ist anschliessend glänzend, wasserfest und lebensmittelecht.
