Before the association was founded — that's how it all began (2009-2013)

Our association was created from the eponymous initiative founded in 2009 by Daniel Musizza and Antonio Scali. The first presentation on the topic of “Dealing personally with one's own disability in private/working life” was very well received at schools, employers and career selection events for visually impaired students. In 2011, the founders of the association expanded their range of services and for the first time held a workshop at a school for visually impaired and blind people on the topics of acceptance, confrontation, strengths and weaknesses.

They recognized the potential and it was clear that structural change was the only solution: a non-profit association.

After founding the association — the “right” way forward (2013-today)

In March 2013, the association Sehbehindert — aber Richtig was founded by twelve affected visually impaired and blind members. With a lot of enthusiasm and drive, we implemented various projects, such as soccer for the visually impaired, or reached new target groups such as adults and parents.

In the period from its founding to today, a lot has happened in the association, members have changed, workshops have been redesigned and new challenges have been tackled. But the core of our work remains unchanged: helping people with disabilities from those affected to those affected!
