It is a precious reminder of all the wonderful people, life situations, dreams, feelings and stories. When we look at our wedding photos, or the other 20 photo albums that are on our shelves, we are as if we have stepped back in time. The unbelievably small and fleeting moments of happiness are suddenly back as if it was just yesterday and we remember the smallest details again. The feelings and stories in these pictures, those for us and all our favorite people who were there, come alive again. And even our loved ones, who couldn't be there, can share in these moments from afar.
When I flipped through my grandma's old albums again and imagined what it was all like back then, it struck me like a blow: How close and similar we must have been. I recognize so many situations! I've collected the same moments, glued them in carefully and loved them!
Maybe my grandchildren will sit there one day and ask “Grandma, why are you all looking so stupid in the wedding photo? “, and I'm going to tell them all the nice stories. About love, friendship and life!
