When two rivals meet, things get heated up — and not just in rugby! Australia and New Zealand are also fighting an exciting duel for the favor of connoisseurs in the wine world. “Fruit-driven” and “easy-to-drink”? Sure, both countries can do that. But there is much more to it: unique wine styles, fascinating terroirs and genuine wines of character that inspire wine fans all over the world.
In this seminar, we will take you on an enjoyable journey through the most important growing regions of Australia and New Zealand. Together, we explore the hot wine hills of the fifth continent and the cool climate zones of the North and South Islands of New Zealand — with appealing pictures and, of course, great wines.
And by the way, we answer questions such as:
- What is behind the term “Bin 389”?
- What exactly is a multi-district blend?
- Old Bushwine — Australia's treasure?
- Why is “canopy management” more important than a parasol?

- Tasting of 12 Australian and New Zealand quality wines (6 white, 6 red) as blind tasting, i.e. without label and price information
- Tasting using the basics of wine sensory and structured tasting techniques
- Information about growing regions, grape varieties and special features of the wines
- Lots of useful tips on food pairing, service and wine storage
- Answering questions about wine
