About this class
As an interior designer with a great passion for clay, I have been amazed since childhood how unique yet functional objects are created from a simple piece of clay. I would like to share this joy of crafting with you in my pottery workshop in Hamburg — in a warm, creative and relaxed atmosphere.
In the workshop, you create 2-3 personal ceramic pieces, such as mugs or decorative plates, and can also design a free object based on your own ideas. I will accompany you with techniques, tips and a lot of heart.
With embossing, structures or engobe colors, you can individually refine your work and give it a special touch. The focus is not only on the result, but also on the intuitive, playful use of natural material — as a small, creative form of meditation. Each piece is unique with its own personality; small bumps make your ceramic special and authentic.
After the course, I dry your works, glaze them transparently and burn them at over 1000 °C. After about four weeks, you can pick up your finished ceramic pieces lovingly packaged.
What you’ll do in the class
1. Welcome drink & presentation Arrive
together with a small drink.
2. Introduction to
basic hand assembly techniques without turntables + demonstration of cups and decorative plates.
3. Form your own pieces
You create 1—3 objects with my support.
4. Enjoy a short break in between
drinks, tea and snacks.
5. Decorate
Optional: Apply embossing, textures or engobe colors.
6. Explanation of the firing process
Drying → Scrub firing → Glazing → Smooth firing (1000+ °C).
Pick-up after approx. 4 weeks.
Who is the class suitable for?
The workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to calm down with sound and relax creatively — regardless of whether you are a beginner or already have some initial experience.
DIY fans and interior lovers who want to brighten up their homes with homemade favorites are also very welcome.
Our course is also ideal for special occasions: whether it's a relaxed after-work workshop, a creative group event, a bachelor party, a girls' night out or a cozy birthday party — designing together is simply fun.
