Discover the art of hand-building with clay while creating your very own ocarina — a unique wind instrument with ancient roots. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn shaping techniques, how to create precise finger holes, and the basics of tuning your instrument.

What you’ll do in the class

Program of the workshop :

  • Guidance to draw your instrument and choose your clay among four different colors (black, white, beige and brown)
  • Make your ocarina with variate handbuilding techniques and the guidance of the instructor
  • Paint your piece with colored engobes
  • After the workshop, your piece will be fired and glazed with a transparent coating by the studio (no extra cost for firing and glazing in transparent)
  • Your piece will be ready to pickup at our studio one month after your workshop (we need time to dry it, fire it and paint it after you made it: this is a slow process! 😉)
