About this class
In this intensive ceramic course, you will learn basic hand construction techniques, as well as decoration and glazing methods for ceramic objects and create a unique piece of ceramic work.
In this course, you can implement your idea according to your wishes and everyone can freely decide what should be implemented.
This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as advanced learners.
What you’ll do in the class
1st session: Introduction to hand building techniques such as plate and bead techniques. You then start with your first sound object using one of the techniques shown.
2nd session: Here you can continue working on the sound you have started. Depending on the complexity of your idea, you can start a new object and experiment with another hand-building technique. Complete the clay objects you have created and incorporate decorative techniques such as cutouts, carvings or applying decorative clay elements as you please. In this penultimate session, you will complete all sound works for the fire.
3rd session: In the last session, you glaze your sound works yourself. This meeting takes place two weeks after the second session. In the meantime, after drying for one week, your clay object is fired and made ready to glaze.
After glazing, the pieces must be fired again in the kiln. Within 2-3 weeks, you will receive information when your works are ready for collection in the studio.
