About this class
Dive into the world of ceramic painting! In this creative painting course in Erfurt, you can individually design your own tableware. Choose from various ceramic blanks such as cups, plates or cereal bowls and decorate them with professional painting techniques.
Under the guidance of an experienced porcelain painter, you will learn the basics. We offer two different painting techniques:
- The somewhat simpler underglaze painting, here you paint on the ceramic that has been fired.
- And the somewhat challenging faience painting, here you paint on the unfired glaze.
At the end, your work of art is glazed and fired — after two weeks, you can hold your unique tableware in your hands!
What you’ll do in the class
- Introduction to the two painting techniques: underglaze and faience painting
- Choice of two ceramics (cup, 19 cm plate or cereal bowl)
- Creatively paint your ceramics with paints and brushes
- After the course: glazing and firing the works (collection after approx. 2 weeks)

The faience and porcelain factory has been located in Erfurt's old town, at the beginning of the Krämerbrücke, for over 40 years. Our workshop, which produces all ceramics found in our shop, is located on the outskirts of Erfurt.
