About this class
For this, liquid glaze is used for painting. Choose colors and off you go.
There are various techniques, such as applying ink with a sponge for stencil, stamp printing and screen printing. Sgraffito technology is also exciting. Here, paint is applied to the ceramic and then a pattern is scratched into these layers with a wooden skewer. By scraping off the top layers of paint, underlying layers of paint or even the ceramic, become visible again.
You can also design creatively with borders and masking tape. With a pencil, you can delicately pre-paint your own creations and repaint them with a brush.
What you’ll do in the class
The process is as follows:
Welcome and introduction: At the beginning, I will introduce you to the studio, explain the various techniques and give tips for painting the ceramic pieces. After that, the two-hour painting begins.
Selection of ceramics: You can choose your favorite piece from a selection of unpainted ceramic pieces such as cups, bowls, vases or decorative objects.
Design phase: Now you can let your creativity run wild! You paint your work with different colors, patterns and techniques. I will provide you with advice and assistance.
Drying and finishing: After painting, your work is ready to dry. If desired, we can also add small details.
Completion and collection: At the end of the course, you leave your finished piece of ceramic in the studio so that it can be glazed for everyday use and then fired. After about 10 to 14 days, you can take the work home.
The course takes place in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to make your creative work as pleasant as possible. Still water and tea are provided. A professional coffee machine is available.
I'm already looking forward to an inspiring day with you and to creating beautiful ceramic works together!
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is for anyone who enjoys designing — whether you're a beginner or a bit more experienced. Together, we dive into the world of ceramics and discover how much fun it is to paint and design your own works of art.
