Radio ballet is an interactive performance art that is like a smart mob or a performative intervention.
Radio ballet participants are given the opportunity to try out
themselves artistically, immerse themselves in another world and creatively appropriate public space.
In return, with the help of wireless headphones, they become part of a story that they bring to life themselves by
following interwoven instructions. Using the
different radio headset channels, participants, divided into groups, experience
a shared experience, but at the same time different sides of the same story. They act
within their own group as well as with the other group and with uninvolved visitors to
the event. In doing so, they become part of a divergent world for a short time and encouraged to test themselves
performatively. The result is a performance that can be unexpected,
engaging, new, challenging, and intimate for participants.
How does this activity work?
We bring all the technology to the event and provide an extensive library with over 16 topic-related radio ballet pieces. Clients can choose from this to suit the occasion. Anyone who would like to participate is welcome to perform one or more pieces with us. Although it may sound complex at first, this art form is surprisingly simple and low-threshold — easy to understand and accessible to everyone. All we need is a space with enough space and we can share a creative and entertaining experience together.
Who should definitely take part?
The course is suitable for everyone. Every person can get creative with their own body. Of course, no one should be forced and you can cancel at any time. There is no explicit target group or even a location. A lot is possible with this art form and it is for everyone.
