Class description
What are we actually doing?
This course is suitable for advanced learners. You should have at least already designed a few words and letterings — or have taken one of my beginner/basics courses. The focus is on all the great watercolor effects that we can make with felt-tip pens or even brush markers. Loot your kids' pencil cases and get started 😉 — It is important that the pens are water-based.
A little tip: if they stink of solvent, they are alcohol-based.
We design lettering together, each one what they like and then move on to working with color gradients in watercolor style. Below this description, you will find some of my hand lettering examples with exciting watercolor effects.
How do we actually do that?
After registration, you will receive your access link to the ZOOM meeting, which you can simply open on time at the start of the event via the browser. It would be great if you could participate with your own webcam (or camera from a tablet or mobile phone), because then I can take a look at your work in between and help you if necessary.
The course is being recorded. 1-2 days after the course, I will send you the link so that you can repeat all tips and tricks again afterwards.
Before the course
Have all the materials ready, if you still want to shop but don't know what to get, then use the community and ask for tips — they'll be happy to help you here.
During the course
Technology is great, but it can also be a devil. I'm doing my best to make everything work for the live event, apologize in advance if the technology (or the Internet connection) lets me down — please be lenient with me in that case.
After the course...
... is before the course, I have several topics online and I add them again and again every month, I will also repeat the topics from time to time, as more and more are constantly being added. Show and share what you've done yourself!
Join in, we support each other during the corona pandemic. I'm looking forward to you.
Details to remember
What to bring?
Most material:
- paper
- Possibly transparent or sandwich paper to design
- pencil and eraser (very important)
- Brushpens, felt-tip pens, fineliner for finishing
- A thin round brush in size 2 is practical, either a synthetic brush, because they always have firm and controllable bristles (e.g. Da Vinci Nova, or Da Vinci FIT Synthetics) or if you would like to invest in a good watercolor brush, I recommend the Kazalon brush from Gerstäcker.
What is included?
You will receive support and tips from me throughout the workshop.
