About this class

The open-source HILO E-Spinner is an electric spinning wheel and the ideal starting point for learning how to spin your fibres.  In the workshop, you will get an introduction to spinning techniques and materials and produce your first yarn samples. The aim is to gain a basic understanding of the techniques for spinning to yarn.

Description

  • Introduction into materials, yarn construction and spinning techniques
  • Individual exercises and yarn experimentation (spinning and twisting)
  • Reflection and presentation of individual yarn cards

Target audience

This course aims at individuals who want to learn everything about spinning. It is a beginners course for an introduction into the basic spinning technique and sampling by hand.
