About this class
In this photo workshop in Leipzig, you will master the technical challenges of twilight photography. With a stand and filters, you create atmospheric long exposures on Lake Cospuden. Perfect for anyone who wants to take their landscape photography to the next level.
What you’ll do in the class
We'll meet at Pier One parking lot two hours before sunset. After a brief presentation, I will explain the particular challenges of twilight photography and the optimal camera setting for various lighting situations.
During a walk along the shore together, we look for the best shooting positions. You will learn how to perfectly stage the foreground and background and what role the position of the setting sun plays.
Now it is time for the first test recordings. You set up your tripod and I'll show you how to optimally set it up for maximum stability during long exposures. We're experimenting with different filter settings and I'll explain how to calculate your exposure time precisely.
At dusk, the magical phase begins. The time frame is short, but we are perfectly prepared. You'll learn how to master the rapidly changing lighting conditions and capture different variations of your subject - from the last warm rays of sunshine to the cool blue of the beginning of night.
In between recordings, we'll discuss your results and I'll give you individual tips for optimization. At the end of the workshop, you will not only have breathtaking recordings, but also the technical knowledge to perfectly capture the blue hour at any time.
Who is the class suitable for?
The workshop is aimed at ambitious amateur photographers who have already mastered their camera in manual mode. You should be familiar with the basics of exposure (ISO, aperture, time) and have experience using a stand. Basic knowledge of using ND and history filters is also helpful.
Not suitable for:
- Absolute photography beginners
- Photographers without their own camera equipment
- People with reduced mobility (approx. 1 km on foot)
