About this class

Do you like taking pictures, but your pictures often look random rather than deliberately designed? In this photo workshop for beginners in Buchholz, you will learn how to really understand and use your camera in a targeted manner.

In the course, I will show you the basics of photography step by step: aperture, shutter speed and ISO, image structure, light and perspective. You'll learn how these settings work together and how to use them safely — whether with an SLR or system camera. The aim is to exit automatic mode and consciously design images.

After a clearly understandable introduction, we put what we have learned directly into practice. You take pictures yourself, ask questions and receive individual feedback. A small group creates a quiet learning atmosphere with enough time for exchange and practice.

The workshop is aimed at anyone who is looking for an understandable introduction to photography and wants to control their camera safely. No previous experience is required.

What you’ll do in the class

After a short round of introductions, we'll start with the basics of photography. You will learn in an understandable and practical way how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together and how to adjust your camera specifically.

We then put what we have learned directly into practice. Together, we take pictures in various situations and discuss the results. Meanwhile, there is time for questions, individual support and specific tips for image design.

Who is the class suitable for?

The course is aimed at beginners who want to understand their camera better and take pictures more safely. It is ideal for anyone who has taken pictures in automatic mode so far and wants to learn how to consciously use aperture, time and ISO.

Suitable for owners of SLR or system cameras — regardless of brand or model. No previous experience is required.
