About this class
Get out of automatic mode!
In the Digital Photography for Beginners workshop, we are taking the first steps forward in digital photography.
In the first part, there is a brief overview of the basics of photography and the operation of a digital camera: compact & intensive!
In the second part of Simply Learning to Take Pictures, it gets really practical: We go out and apply our newly acquired photo knowledge in three or four easy tasks. Above all, it's fun... and “learns” a lot, easily and quickly.
What you’ll do in the class
Part 1 turns around in two hours
- Components of a digital camera
- automatic and creative modes, manual mode
- Relationship between aperture, shutter speed and sensitivity (ISO)
- exposure metering, autofocus, white balance
- useful basic settings (data formats, color space, etc.)
- Deliberately create or use sharpness and blur
- A little bit of lens science: When is which lens, which focal length correct?
In part 2, we spend two hours in the city. Each participant should (imitate) a few very specific, predefined photos. These specific tasks challenge and encourage, are fun, lead to exchange ideas with each other and increase the learning effect. I am of course happy to help if needed or have any questions... and show you how it works. That is then pleasant: simply learn how to take pictures!
The photo workshop usually takes place on weekdays as a small “after-work course” in two stages, sometimes “in one go” on Saturdays or Sundays (and then also in Hameln). In this way, everyone is sure to find a suitable date.
Who is the class suitable for?
If you are a beginner and want to get to know your (new) digital SLR or system camera (and take better photos with it soon), this is the right place for you.
