About this class
Carve, Print & Play is a festive, hands-on printmaking workshop for creative families who want to slow down, make something meaningful, and enjoy a playful afternoon together.
In this relaxed 2.5-hour session, you'll explore simple stamp-carving, mark-making and foam printing techniques to create your own collection of handmade prints — from cards and gift tags to patterned wrapping paper and mini artworks.
Guided by artist and educator Harriet Norwood Poole, this workshop blends mindful making with joyful experimentation. If Christmas themes aren't your style, you're warmly invited to explore your own ideas — winter patterns, animals, plants, symbols, and anything that sparks joy.
You'll head home with your own carved stamps, a bundle of printed treasures, and fresh inspiration to keep creating together. Ticket is for One adult + One child (ages 7+)
What you’ll do in the class
• 14:30 – 14:45 — Welcome + warm-up
• 14:45 – 15:15 — Carving + mark-making demos
• 15:15 – 16:30 — Printing session: cards, tags, wrapping paper
• 16:30 – 17:00 — Finishing touches + sharing + wrap-up
We begin by settling in with a short, tactile warm-up to loosen hands and spark ideas.
Next, families explore simple carving and foam-printing techniques — learning how to design, carve and test their own stamps.
From here, you'll experiment freely with ink, rollers and colorful papers to create cards, tags, wrapping paper and mini artworks.
We end with time to finish your pieces, ask questions and take home everything you've made.
