About this class
Bead weaving combines creativity, concentration and craftsmanship in a unique way. In my workshop, participants learn in a fun way how to create colorful patterns and small pieces of pearl jewelry with a weaving frame. It is not only about manual work, but also about patience, perseverance and the joy of one's own work. The aim is to give participants access to traditional handicrafts — with modern materials and age-appropriate instructions. At the end of the workshop, each person takes home a self-designed bracelet — as a very personal souvenir of their own creative work
What you’ll do in the class
The course starts with a short round of introductions by the participants. I then share my knowledge about glass beads. Each participant assembles their own small weaving frame and strings it with thread. Before we start weaving, it is possible to picture a sketch idea on a sheet (brought by me). Each participant must also put together their own color combination.
In between, we will of course take a short break, during which we will have coffee and snacks/cake. I then show the weaving process on the frame and the participants can imitate these steps. I will be on site as a contact person throughout the entire period and will of course be happy to help at any time. At the end, the participants learn an adjustable macrame knot, which is suitable as a clasp for the bracelet. At the end, the participants go home with their self-designed piece of jewelry.
