Class description
What are we actually doing?
Anyone who starts with watercolor on their own quickly gets the status “Hmm, my picture looks kind of like coloring with paint” — but watercolor is a great technique for using the beautiful structures to create loose pictures. In this course, I will teach you all the important techniques of watercolor painting and what to consider. Surrender yourself to the color spectacle of the evening sun.
How do we actually do that?
After registration, you will receive your access link to the ZOOM meeting, which you can simply open on time at the start of the event via the browser. It would be great if you could participate with your own webcam (or camera from a tablet or mobile phone), because then I can take a look at your work in between and help you if necessary. The course is being recorded. 1-2 days after the course, I will send the link around so that you can repeat all tips and tricks again afterwards.
Before the course
Have all the materials ready, if you still want to shop but don't know what to get, then use the community and ask for tips — they'll be happy to help you here.
During the course
Technology is great, but it can also be a devil. I'm doing my best to make everything work for the live event, apologize in advance if the technology (or the Internet connection) lets me down — please be lenient with me in that case.
After the painting class...
... is before the course, I have several topics online and I add them again and again every month, I will also repeat the topics from time to time, as more and more creative people are constantly joining. Show and share what you've done yourself! I am happy to see your work in the public Kreativ zu Hause group.
Join in, we support each other during the corona pandemic. I'm looking forward to you.
Details to remember
What to bring?
Please bring along:
- watercolor paper. A cheap, good version is the Canson XL Aquarelle (light blue block). However, the expensive version is worth every euro and a paper made from 100% cotton, for example from Hahnemühle or Windsor and Newton. I personally prefer the satined papers (very smooth) — make sure that your paper is “cold pressed” or “cold pressed”, they stay wet longer and we have the option to model the colors longer.
- Watercolor brush, I always use the KAZALON series.
- Watercolor paint, I use various artist-quality brands (highly pigmented). However, an academic-quality starter kit is completely sufficient to start with, you can get more and better colors over time.
- A tube of opaque white or white gouache paint.
What is included?
You'll receive support and tips throughout the workshop. You'll learn:
- Wet in wet technology
- Water control on paper and brush
- Dry brush technology
- Wet on dry — technology.
