About this class

Nude drawing is more than simply depicting the body — it is a creative approach to one's own perception. In this workshop, we discover various drawing approaches: freely and spontaneously, in relation to space or as an expression of a personal theme.

Whether with pencil, charcoal or ink — in the studio, on the terrace or in nature — every phase invites you to experiment. Individual support enables beginners and advanced learners to develop personally.

What you’ll do in the class

1. Welcome & arrival (10:30 — 10:50)

  • Reception of participants
  • Warm welcome from Silke Kirschning
  • Short round of introductions: Name, with or without previous experience, etc. (max. 1 minute per person)?

2. Day overview & process presentation (10:50 — 11:00)

  • Presentation of the rough schedule: Introduction and choice of materials, naming the three creative modules, scheduling the lunch break & final round
  • Emphasis: Everything is an offer, not pressure to perform — it is about experience, not about the perfect result
  • Note on breaks/drinks/sanitary facilities/mobile phone use

3. Selection of materials & experimentation (11:00 — 11:15)

  • Brief introduction to the available materials: pastel crayons, oil crayons, graphite, etc.
  • You help yourself and try things out, feel what's right for you
  • Objective: Playful approximation — what feels right, what appeals to you?

4th module 1: Intuitive painting (11:15 — 13:00)

Topic: “Follow the inside”

  • Short introduction
  • Suggestion: Paint without a plan — follow lines, colors, movements, shapes as they want to be created
  • Focus on process rather than result
  • Optional exchange of experiences (briefly showing or describing who wants)

5th lunch break (13:00 — 14:00)

  • Shared meal: vegetarian lunch snack. If you like, feel free to bring something else that you would like to share.
  • Open discussion, exchange, withdrawal is also possible
  • When the weather is nice: sunbathe or a short walk

6. Module 2: Painting with reference to space (14:00 — 15:15)

Topic: “Space — the environment: nature — as a driving force”

  • Suggestion: Be inspired by space, the landscape — colors, shadows, light, sounds
  • Impulse questions: What do you see in the room — what do you notice? How does the model stand in the room?
  • Objective: Experience that graphical, external elements can be helpful for presentation
  • Optional exchange of experiences (briefly showing or describing who wants)

7. Module 3: Painting to your own meaning (3:15 p.m. — 4:30 p.m.)

Topic: “What moves you — would you like to make a personal topic visible? ”

  • Introduction: Short story or image impulse
  • Work suggestion: What is currently bothering you? Which figure, which symbol, which colors stand for it?
  • Here too: individual design required

8. Free work & integration (16:30 — 17:00)

  • Time to deepen a topic or combine all topics
  • Feedback from Silke Kirschning on request
  • Objective: The previous experiences flow together, something unique is created

9th final round, reflection & outlook (17:00 — 17:30)
