GRAFICUM... sees itself as an independent institution for continuing artistic education
in a wide range of visual fields, as a field of experimentation for beginners and advanced learners of all ages who — detached from everyday life — want to develop their creativity and pursue their artistic ambitions. There is just as much space for non-representational expression as for figurative study of nature or various stages of artistic abstraction. By trusting in individual talent and my many years of artistic experience and teaching, I am able to impart fundamental knowledge of theory and practice. Discovering the creative power within yourself and developing it further can have a motivating effect, help to deepen knowledge and further develop individual artistic methods. The opportunity to experiment, develop a personal drawing style, breathe life into one's own work and express it, as well as the mutual exchange of experiences are essential aspects of the broadly diversified overall concept. The program offerings include consulting services, work reviews, seminars and workshops, accompanied by interdisciplinary lectures. Drawing courses initially form the core program. Another focus is goal planning and conception — or advisory support for application folders for successful applications to secondary institutions such as academies, universities, design colleges and other secondary institutions. Block seminars for manual printing techniques (monotype, etching, screen printing (silkscreen) and woodcut teach basic skills in using technology and machines in order to make your own artistic designs ready for series production. In addition to practical work, many courses include explanatory introductions to words and pictures about art historical connections, stylistic periods or reviews of works by old masters and outstanding representatives of contemporary art. A large seminar room with media equipment is available for theoretical lessons. The practical lessons take place in a professionally equipped, spacious studio with two etching presses, a letterpress, a screen printing machine with squeegee guide, a fabric printing machine and a large selection of papers, colors and tools.
