Get to know Fyrkuna - Feuerkunst
A studio in an old forge, in an idyllic forest near Iserlohn. Since November 2022, I have been working there on contemporary objects using traditional and modern means, such as forging, drifting, etc. For me, contemporary means combining origins and new paths.
After training as a blacksmith in Gubbio, Italy, I worked in various workshops and studied with my master, a coppersmith. The connection and collaboration with artists in both Italy and Germany would be formative for me. I have been working independently in Italy, Germany and Liberia since 1993. From 20076 to 2022, I made art from scrap weapons in Liberia, “Arms into Art.”
My experience in forging and metal construction enables me to develop a wide range of design.
The joy of creating is a gift that I like to share.
