Workshop: “Orange Day — art against violence against women”
Every year on November 25, Orange Day is celebrated worldwide, a day that draws attention to violence against women and sets an example for a life free of violence. In this special workshop, we would like to send a strong message through the power of art and raise our voices for this important topic.
What is this workshop about?
This workshop is about dealing artistically with the topic of violence against women. Through intuitive and abstract painting, you have the opportunity to bring your feelings, thoughts and messages onto the canvas. The color orange, which symbolizes Orange Day, will be in the foreground — it symbolizes hope, encouragement and a clear “no” to violence. But you are also free to use all other colors and design your work of art in the way that feels right for you.
How does this activity work?
Introduction to the topic: We start with a short introduction to the topic of “Violence against Women” and the meaning of Orange Day. It is a space for exchange, reflection, and awareness that can inspire you to express your feelings artistically.
Intuitive and abstract painting: You will be introduced to the techniques of intuitive and abstract painting. It is not about perfection or technique, but about following your inner impulses and expressing your emotions in colors and shapes.
Free design: Let yourself be guided by your intuition and create a work of art that expresses your personal message against violence. The color orange can dominate, but all other colors are also welcome to tell your story.
Community and exchange: In a supportive and appreciative atmosphere, you can exchange ideas with other participants, share your experiences and be inspired by different perspectives.
Option to participate in an exhibition: Your work has the chance to become part of an exhibition in Bad Ems in order to draw attention to the topic of “violence against women.” It's a way to make your voice visible and make a strong statement together.
Who should definitely take part?
This workshop is open to anyone who creatively deals with the topic of “violence against women” and wants to make a visible statement — regardless of artistic experience. It is about expressing and reflecting emotions and using the power of art in a protected community.
