Pottery course: creative break in small groups

Duration: 2 hours

Technology: plate technology (plus inspiration for further techniques)

1. Arrive & start (approx. 10 minutes)

• Welcome: Arrive comfortably, a brief presentation of the course management and participants.
• A brief overview: What can you expect? What can you create today?
• Introduction: Basics of plate technology — how to shape, cut and assemble clay plates.

2. Project 1: Your personal mug (approx. 50 minutes)

• Let's go! Step by step, I'll show you how to make a mug out of clay plates.
  • Shapes: Create the basic shape of the cup.
  • Design: Decorate with patterns, stamps or small details
  • Henkel: That's the perfect way to apply it!
• In the meantime, I will be by your side and assist you with any questions or tricky questions.

3. Free design: Your own project (approx. 50 minutes)

• Develop your creativity: Now it's your turn! Design your own work piece — whether it's a bowl, figure or an individual decorative object.
• Construction techniques for inspiration:
  • Beading technique: Model with clay sausages — ideal for organic shapes such as bowls.
  • Hollow body technology: Perfect for figures or closed objects.
  • Combine: Why not mix different techniques?

4th conclusion: Proud of your work (approx. 10 minutes)

• Show & Tell: If you like, you can present your own creations to the group.
• What happens next?
  • Your work is dried, fired and is then ready for you.
  • We offer transparent or white glazes for finishing.
• Thanks & feedback: Finally, a small farewell — maybe we'll see each other again soon?

Important: This is not about perfection, but about having fun, trying out new things and discovering the joy of sound as a material. Let yourself be surprised how unique your work will be! 😊

Follow-up and collection

After the course, I will let your works dry completely first. I then pre-burn them in a dishwashing process to make them stable. Then I finish it with a glaze — you can choose between transparent or white glaze. As soon as your works have been fired and glazed, I will let you know so that you can pick up your unique pieces.

Pick-up usually takes around 2-3 weeks after the course. So you'll soon have your finished works in your hands — ready for everyday use or as a very special gift! 😊

The course is ideal for anyone who wants to get creative and try out using sound — regardless of whether you are a beginner or already have experience.
