About this class
Dive into the world of Turkish ceramic painting — in Senden, we combine color, pattern and culture to create a creative experience. Seramics are a tradition in mosques, palaces and bazaars. In our workshop, you will learn the origin story and design your own work of art with us: tile, tea light, figure or other shapes — individual and unique. Step by step, we'll show you ornaments, floral motifs and techniques. No previous experience is necessary; the technology is beginner-friendly, inspiring and yet challenging. In about 3 hours, you will receive all materials and personal support. Turkish tea, coffee, water and small snacks will keep you happy. In the end, you take home your own ceramic work of art — a colorful reminder of culture and creativity.
What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome & Introduction to the History & Meaning of Ceramics
- Presentation of shapes: tiles, figures, tea lights, etc.
- Explanation of colors, glazes and brushes
- Design your design (ornaments, flowers, etc.)
- Transferring the contours onto the ceramic
- Colouring and detailed work
- Let dry & final finishing if necessary
- Reflection & final presentation
- Handing over the finished work of art
