About this class
The pottery wheel taster course invites you to try out pottery or deepen your technique. After a short introduction, we design and experiment with sound to create everyday objects or vessels.
You can choose two pieces that we will complete for you. After 3-4 weeks, you will pick up your fired and glazed ceramics. We will do the finishing, glazing (transparent or colored) and firing for you.
For a small additional charge, you can also have more than two pieces completed.
What you’ll do in the class
We start with a short introduction to clay and prepare the clay for the potter's wheel.
After a demonstration of turning the potter's wheel, you are invited to model the clay on the wheel. You'll learn basic techniques, tips and tricks.
This can result in plates, mugs, candle holders, bowls or small vases.
At the end of the course, you will select 2 of your twisted ceramics, which we will complete for you. For the glaze, you can choose between transparent and red glaze.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced learners.
Due to the small group size of max. 4 participants, individual support is possible and we can respond to every person participating.
In this course, you can learn how to turn from scratch or you can either deepen your turning technique on the potter's wheel.
