About this Tour

Enjoy an unforgettable canoe trip from Hitzacker to Neu Darchau. This 14 km long route takes you through the Lower Saxony Elbe Floodplain Biosphere Reserve, one of the most impressive river landscapes in Europe.
From the start in the picturesque half-timbered town of Hitzacker to arrival in Neu Darchau, you glide along untouched nature, observe rare animal species and enjoy the peaceful expanse of the Elbe.
This unguided tour is perfect for adventurers looking for a unique outdoor experience.
Steps of the tour
- Transport of up to 12 people to the starting point in Hitzacker. Please arrange a separate journey for groups of 13 people or more and we will meet you on site.
- Briefing and rehearsals in the Hitzacker harbor basin.
- Start of the tour heading northwest along the Elbe.
- Drive past the Drawehn Range and view of Kniepenberg.
- End of the tour at the Neu Darchau car ferry. Land at the last stage on the left before the ferry dock at the canoe trailer and follow the cobblestones to our canoe station.
After the tour, you can end the day with us with a grill and cold drinks. We provide you with a barbecue area with grill and charcoal. You will take care of the grilled food, other food and drinks. There is a supermarket in Neu Darchau that is open 24/7. We would be happy to provide you with an individual offer on request.
