Discover the individual wine hike “Lass dich Ragn” around Escherndorf with your team or group — a self-guided wine and nature experience with spectacular views over the Mainschleife.
The starting point is Weingut Schäffer, the smallest VDP winery in Franconia, run by siblings Sophie and Peter Schäffer in the fourth generation. Equipped with a cooling backpack, five characterful wines, high-quality glasses and a lovingly designed route flyer, you will set off on an approximately 5 km long round trip.
The route takes you through the famous Escherndorfer Lump steep slope and past the terroir f viewpoint — with panoramic views over the Mainschleife. The trail runs through historic vineyards, over an impressive stone staircase and invites you to take relaxing breaks with the best wine views again and again.
A wine tour with depth, personality and genuine Franconian style — completely without a guide, but with everything you need for your own REBENGLÜCK.
Steps of the tour
Arrival at Weingut Schäffer: Group welcome and optional sparkling wine to get you in the mood for the day (on request, additional costs).
Equipment: You will receive your cooling backpack, stocked with carefully selected wines (0.75 l each), wine glasses and matching glass holders for all participants. In addition, you will receive a clear route flyer with information about the route and a link to digital navigation via Komoot.
Start of the wine hike: The tour starts directly at the winery and takes about 5 km through varied landscapes. You can expect mostly asphalted or meadow trails with an altitude difference of around 120 meters — easy to tackle, even for larger groups.
Enjoyment with a view: On the way, there are numerous opportunities for short breaks, a picnic or a wine tasting with a view — whether with a view of the distinctive steep slopes of the Escherndorfer Lump, across the Mainschleife or at the terroir f viewpoint. Along the route, several beautiful rest areas with benches or natural stone walls invite you to relax and enjoy.
Everything at your own pace: You are completely free to take your time and stay in the beautiful places. After the hike, you can keep everything in the package.
