Class description
There is no way around this great coloring plant in the world of natural dyeing - indigo - the natural source of the color blue. During the workshop, participants will learn how to extract blue pigment from fresh indigo, including how to make their own cap.
Content:
- Cultivation/harvesting of Persicaria tinctoria (Japanese indigo)
- Processing/dyeing with fresh indigo
- Indigo pigment manufacturing
- Dyeing with indigo custard (fermentation) -- no own cap is made in this workshop
- Production of shades of green
Vegan food and drinks are provided on the day of the course. (late breakfast snack, lunch & coffee/tea + cake)
Each participant receives a cotton bag, silk towel and linen kitchen towel to take away.
The workshop will also take place when it rains, as we will be in the studio most of the time.

What to bring?
Lots of good humor and desire to dive into the world of coloring. You are also welcome to bring your own textiles to dye.
What is included?
All materials that are required. There will also be vegan food and delicious drinks.
