Hand lettering — that is the art of writing individual words particularly beautifully.
In this handlettering course in Leipzig, you will learn the classic handlettering script. Your own writing style is integrated and your lettering gets a very personal touch. We practice using various brush pens and with lots of tips, exercise sheets and high-quality materials, you are well equipped — even for your first projects at home.
This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to relax creatively and inspire with their font.
What you’ll do in the class
The course starts with a warm welcome and an introduction to the world of hand lettering. You will get to know the different brush pens and get helpful tips on how to position your hand correctly and how to handle the materials. To warm up, practice your first swings and simple lines before we work our way through the alphabet step by step. In doing so, you try out different variants of each letter and get a sense of proportion, style and rhythm.
The next step is to combine the individual letters into words and develop your own personal font style. It is best to think of a small saying, a quote or a congratulation in advance that you would like to create in class.
