About this class
Here, glaze becomes color and the tonal surface becomes an image carrier. You design a bowl like a picture and work with brushes, lines, surfaces and overlays.

What you’ll do in the class
In this course, you will discover how versatile you can design with glaze.
- You'll try out techniques such as drawing, layering, mopping, masking, and masking.
- You work on a raw dish with a diameter of about 24 centimeters and also test ideas on a small test tray.
- You will learn how materials react, what changes after the fire and which decisions are important.
- You will then design your workpiece with personal assistance if you have any questions.
The course is suitable for people from the fields of illustration, graphics, painting or printmaking and for ceramists who want to use glaze specifically as paint. In the end, your work can appear calm, graphic, precise, or painterly. The bowl is fired at 1220 degrees and is ready for collection after three to six weeks. Depending on the glaze, it is suitable as decoration or for food.
