In the family pottery course in Cologne/Frechen, you will experience how small works of art and big memories are made from clay.
Clay - or soft dough and modelling clay - has a real fascination for children. It is a sensual, a creative, a very special experience for all ages. In this workshop, we therefore also give sensory experience the necessary space.
But not only that! Your instructor will show you various craft techniques on how to work with the sound. Tools from everyday life, nature and professional sound design are used. In this way, every team of 2 benefits from the motor skills of adults and the imagination of the kids. In the end, you take home your own work of art.
What you’ll do in the class
After you park right in front of our entrance, you come to the inviting lobby. Here you can safely park your jackets and shoes before heading on to the creative room. Imagine an old, cozy building - truly a listed building! - with chandelier and baroque chairs in front. The perfect environment for creative hours!
The course instructor gives you a brief introduction and presents all materials, tools and techniques. Don't worry, we know kids want to get started as soon as possible! That's why you can start right away.
The course instructor will give you lots of inspiration and ideas over the course of the workshop. But you are free to follow your imagination and individually design your work of art. There are no “guidelines.” It is much more important to us that you can fully enjoy your precious time together!
For a break in between, you can enjoy a few rays of sunshine on our terrace with a panoramic view or frolic on the course with your child in the play room. Feel free to try a delicious cappuccino or tea. You are welcome to bring your own snacks.
At the end of the family workshop, there is a small exhibition where you can see all the resulting creations. After a short round of feedback, pack up your own works of art so that you can proudly present them at home.
Tip: It is best to bring a box or similar to transport your works of art home safely.

The family workshop is ideal for a child between about 2 and 8 years of age with mom/dad/grandpa/aunt/uncle/...
You don't need any previous knowledge, just enjoy 'r Freud'!
