Class description

People have been printing since the Stone Age. Back then with painted hands, today primarily with machines.

In this course, you can learn how to achieve good results with the simplest means, even without an expensive printing press. Be it on paper or on fabric, artistically or as an advertising medium or simply to give your clothes a personal touch. Almost anything is possible.

You will learn various old, originally very complex printing techniques, such as etching. However, we will bring them into the present time and simplify them so that you can implement them at home with the simplest means. We try out three different techniques: gravure (etching), letterpress (linoleic, wood and material printing) and monotype (one-time printing). I bring along suitable materials, tools, paints and paper. You should have a good mood, suitable clothing, ideas and a desire to try things out.

How does this activity work?

First, I'll give you information about the material, explain the individual techniques, tell you a bit about the history of the individual techniques. Then we try them out and see what the options of the individual techniques are. I promise that everyone will go home with an appealing little piece of art.

Who should definitely take part?

For anyone who wants to experiment and print. No previous experience is required.
