About this class
In the advanced brush lettering course, you will deepen your knowledge of using brush pens, learn about different font styles and further develop your own style. You will receive helpful tips for creating harmonious letters, practice new techniques and create your own work of art, which you can take home with you at the end.
What you’ll do in the class
The advanced brush lettering course starts with a warm welcome and a short round of introductions so that all participants can get to know each other. In the first part, we go through the most important basics of brush lettering to refresh your previous knowledge and create a secure basis.
We then dive deeper into the world of different font styles. You will learn how to bring more expressive power to your lettering with targeted strokes, variable line width and harmonic letter shapes. We work step by step on new techniques that expand your individual style.
In between, there are practical practice phases in which you experiment with high-quality brush pens and get immediate feedback. We'll discuss how colors, layout and small decorative elements such as curlicues or illustrations can complement your work.
In the creative main part, you create your own work of art — for example a decorative card, a pendant or an inspiring lettering phrase — which we refine together.
At the end, you will receive a handout with tips and ideas for home, as well as a lovingly put together goodie bag with high-quality materials so that you can get on with it right away. We end the workshop in a cozy atmosphere, exchange ideas and take away lots of new inspiration.
