Painting and drawing people — this is undoubtedly a challenging task. At the same time, painting people is useful for any artistic activity. But don't worry, with the right techniques, approaches and a bit of practice, you'll quickly get into the subject of painting people. In this painting class, you'll learn how to do it! Create amazing works of art!
How does the painting and drawing course in Schneverdingen work?
- As a first step, we look at the anatomy and proportions of humans. We study various postures, deal with characters, facial expressions, gestures and feelings.
- With this knowledge, the result is sketchy and painterly presentation. There are many tips and tricks on technology, material and image composition for implementation.
- In the course of the course, we create people and groups of people based on templates, but also from imagination and playful doodling.
- We use various drawing and acrylic painting techniques as well as experimental approaches. It can be wild and free!
Who is the painting course suitable for?
The course is aimed at both beginners and advanced users. I will follow you completely. You will learn step by step how to draw and paint people. And who knows, if you already have advanced drawing skills, you might develop your own style. The only rule here is: Dare to get creative!
Where does the course take place?
The human painting course takes place in a beautiful and light-flooded studio in Schneverdingen.

What to bring?
The list of materials contains suggestions and is intended as a guide. Please be sure to bring material according to your wishes and preferences.
We will mainly work with various pencils/chalks and watercolor/acrylic paints. NO oil paints please!
Material suggestions:
- various acrylic paints
- various pens (e.g. (water-soluble) colored pencils, felt-tip pens/markers, fineliners), pastels, crayons, graphite trestles, etc.
- inks/inks
- flat and/or round brush, wide and narrow
- plastic spatula, pallet knife
- covered stretcher bars, size as required
- Sketch paper at least A4 - (watercolor) paper (at least A3, preferably larger).
It is important that you can also work “wet” on the paper (at least 200 g/m2) - 1 flower water sprayer to moisten the painting surface
- various small and large pots for paints, brushes, water
- disposable cloths, work clothes and shoes
Some materials can also be purchased from me for a fee
What is included?
During the course, Anne will be there to support you and answer all your questions. You learn how to draw and paint people using various techniques. At the end of the course, you can of course take home your own works of art.
