Who is Jules?
I am a coffee blogger, workshop leader and have a big heart for sustainability. My goal is to get as many people as possible to make better decisions when buying coffee. I want to show that drinking coffee can not only be a taste experience, but also an opportunity to act in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
Why coffee?
In 2019, during a trip to Guatemala, I stumbled across the topic by chance when I was able to see live coffee plants for the first time. It was fascinating to get to know the entire process chain from cultivation to roasting and to drink a black coffee that tastes good for the first time! But at the same time, I was also confronted with the downsides of coffee production, such as the hard child labor in some plantations. This experience has led me to deal more intensively with the topic.
What is special about this coffee workshop?
You'll get a comprehensive introduction to the world of coffee. After this event, you will be able to shine with exciting coffee knowledge! In addition, you will learn how industrial coffee differs from specialty coffee. I will also show you ways to make sustainable purchasing decisions for your coffee. The workshop also deals with seals and labels, as well as other approaches that make the coffee supply chain fairer and more transparent.
During the final tasting, your senses of smell and taste are challenged to directly perceive the differences between different coffees. You will get to know the variety of coffee and act like a real Q-grader during professional cupping. The terms mean nothing to you? No problem. You'll be well informed after the workshop!
