I am an Aotearoa (New Zealand)-born, Berlin-based music producer, educator, guitarist, singer, collective founder and event producer, with more than 15 years of experience teaching and sharing the joy of music-making with others.
I firmly believe that opportunities for self-expression through music should be accessible to all. I am passionate about social justice and fighting for equality in the music industry and beyond.
As a queer woman in the music industry, and in music technology, my own journey has been marked by the challenges of existing within very homogeneous spaces. Through my own experiences as a learner, an industry professional, and as a performer and producer, I have a profound understanding of the types of exclusion that minorities experience in these industries. These challenges have motivated me to advocate and work for positive change. In 2018, I founded Éclat Crew, a Berlin-based collective for FLINTA electronic music producers, hosting bi-weekly music-making workshops for new and experienced producers alike since 2018.
I worked as a Creative Producer at Ableton’s Loop Summit for 4 years, producing events designed for the exchange of ideas at the cutting edge of music, technology and creative practice, where I always sought to amplify voices from beyond the mainstream.
I currently produce warm, wonky beats and singer of moody aural treats under the name Yvois, and am the singer-songwriter behind the indie rock project Luckless.
