Class description

In this weekend ceramic course, you will learn how to create impressive ceramic portraits and busts.

Discover the art of vivid expression and develop your artistic skills under professional guidance.


It is a 3-day weekly course on the following days:

  • Friday: 15:00 to 20:00
  • Saturday: 14:00 to 20:00
  • Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

How does this activity work?

Day 1: Basics of bust form and artist anatomy

  • Introduction to materials and tools
  • Building a basic structure
  • Understanding artist anatomy for realistic portraits


Day 2: Building a life-size bust after a model bust

  • Practical exercises for building the bust
  • Tips and tricks for modeling facial features and expression


Day 3: Surface finish and final presentation

  • Fine-tuning details and surface structures
  • Discussion of techniques for completing and presenting the works

Who should definitely take part?

This course is suitable for beginners and advanced students who want to expand their ceramic modelling skills.

Maximum number of participants: 6, for individual support and an intensive learning environment.

 

Details to remember

What to bring?

  • Individual modelling tools can be brought along or borrowed from the studio
  • You'll need:
    • a water spray bottle
    • a solid fibreboard 50 x 40 cm, minimum thickness 16 mm
    • Impact wood or 40 cm squared timber
    • 2 towels or other wipes to keep moist and cover
