Class description
During the Urban Sketching Workshop in Bonn, the course instructor and independent illustrator Tanja Meyer will show you many techniques to capture your own environment in a sketchbook.
How does urban sketching work in the botanical garden for beginners?
- The meeting point for the workshop is at 10:00 in front of the entrance to Poppelsdorf Castle on Meckenheimer Allee 171
- From there we go together to the botanical garden to draw and watercolor
- First we focus on individual leaves, flowers and small details and then on whole plants and finally on a larger scene from the garden
- I would like to end the tour with a drink and a snack at Cafe Nees right at Poppelsdorf Castle, so anyone who wants is welcome to come along - drinks and food are not included in the ticket price.
What will you learn in the Urban Sketching Workshop?
- You learn techniques for drawing things proportionally correctly
- You learn how to color with watercolor to give color and life to your drawings
- You learn how to put more complex scenes on paper
Who is Urban Sketching in Bonn suitable for?
The Urban Sketching Workshop is ideal for simply becoming “better” at observing and drawing. But the urban sketching method is also perfect for those who are preparing for a travel journal. Capture your memories in pretty drawings. Here you'll learn how to do it!
Urban sketching — what you should bring along:
Feel free to bring along your personal material, which you like to use for drawing. These can be pencils, fineliners, colored pencils, watercolor pencils or a small watercolor box. Don't take too much with you, because you'll also have to carry it yourself.
What is included in the Urban Sketching Workshop?
Of course, I myself bring various pens so that you can try them out. There are a few places where you can go to the toilet from noon. Admission to the Botanic Gardens is included. If you want to try out watercolor or if you haven't collected so much material yet, Tanja has enough material to try out.
