What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome & Introduction (15 min)
Step into a private home studio in Mitte and settle in with a cup of freshly brewed masala chai. Learn about the rich history of block printing and its role in Indian textile traditions. - Printing Basics & Guided Practice (45 min)
Work with hand-carved wooden blocks and richly pigmented inks, learning how to place patterns and apply ink correctly. Print on fabric swatches while engaging in conversations and sharing design ideas with fellow guests. - Create Your Own Tote Bag (75 min)
Apply your new skills to print a custom-designed tote bag. Experiment with layering patterns and colors under expert guidance, creating a one-of-a-kind piece to take home.
