About this class
This course is perfect for you if you've always wanted to try out the potter's wheel.
Spend 3 hours full of joy and creativity and create something unique! Pottery on the potter's wheel is both mesmerizing and fascinating - although not entirely trivial at first, a spinning piece of clay becomes a functional object in just a few simple steps. This beginners' course teaches basic techniques for making pottery wheels, and functional objects such as small cups or bowls can be created.
We teach beginners in small groups in our cozy studio so that everyone receives enough personal support from our teachers. We speak German as a mother tongue and fluent English (C2)!
YOU NEED
- short fingernails
- Clothes that can get dusty
What you’ll do in the class
- You learn how to center sound on the turntable
- You learn how to create your desired shape
- You learn how to use wood and metal tools
- You have enough time to create approx. 3-4 pieces in this course
- We help you turn even small bowls and cups
- After this introductory course, you can take part in all advanced courses
YOUR REWORK + GLAZE At the
end of the course, you can choose one of your pieces and choose one of 12 dishware suitable glazes (white, blue, gray, pink, green, turquoise + 6 effect glazes with color gradients). If you want to keep several pieces, you pay an additional €10 per piece for rework and glazing.
After drying for 7 days, we continue to process your selected pieces so that you can use them in everyday life and glaze them in the colors of your choice. If you would also like to learn rework (turning), you'd better book our 2-day pottery course with turning + turning (at intervals of 7 days).
WHEN WILL MY PIECES BE READY?
After a total of 48 hours in the fire at
- 900°C scrubbing fire and
- 1240°C glaze firing
Your pieces are transformed into stoneware. The glazes blend with the clay and create a long-lasting, high-quality work of art handmade by you.
Your ceramic pieces are then dishwasher-safe and suitable for everyday use—for the rest of your life! Hopefully, the memories of your ceramics course will last just as long.
After 4 weeks, we will personally notify you when your items are ready for collection. Are you unable to pick up your works in person? We offer DHL shipping for an additional fee of 5.90€.

Who is the class suitable for?
This course is suitable for young people aged 14 and over and adults up to 99 years of age.
