About this class
Dive into the world of ceramics! In this taster course in Erfurt, you will learn how to work at the turntable and form your first own vessels. Accompanied by two experienced ceramic masters, you will receive an introduction to the material and can freely develop your creativity.
Two of your works are professionally fired and glazed by us — this is how long-lasting, food-safe unique pieces are created. All other ceramics are fired only once, or glazed for an additional charge and added to the glaze fire.

What you’ll do in the class
- We'll start with a short introduction, in which we'll explain the course to you.
- You start by preparing the sound.
- Then it's off to the potter's wheel. Here, the masters show you the individual work steps. It's your turn now. We take a lot of time for each participant so that you get a feel for the sound.
- Step by step, you will learn how to center sound, shape it and turn your first own vessels.
- After the course, your ceramics will be dried and sand-fired. After glazing, we put your ceramics in the glaze fire. After 2 weeks, your ceramics are ready and ready to be picked up.
Who is the class suitable for?
The taster course is ideal for anyone who has never worked on the potter's wheel before or simply wants to try something different. The course is aimed at anyone who wants to get a feel for the pottery wheel without taking a longer course right away.
This course is also a good start for those who are looking for a creative break.

The faience and porcelain factory has been located in Erfurt's old town, at the beginning of the Krämerbrücke, for over 40 years. Our workshop, which produces all ceramics found in our shop, is located on the outskirts of Erfurt.
